Which pays more, C++ or Python?

For a Stack Python developer, salary differences between C++ and Python roles depend on experience, industry, and location. Generally, C++ developers tend to earn higher salaries due to its use in performance-critical systems, but Python roles are also well-compensated, especially in data science and web development. Both skills are in demand, and compensation varies based on expertise and job complexity.

What is the difference between Stack Python vs Python Developer?

AspectStack PythonPython Developer

Work EnvironmentOften part of a team working on full-stack applications, including front-end and back-endPrimarily focused on back-end development, scripting, and application logic
Employer & Industry UsageTech companies, startups, web development firmsSoftware companies, web development agencies, tech startups
Common Search & ComparisonYesYes

Stack Python typically refers to a full-stack role involving Python for both front-end and back-end development, often requiring knowledge of multiple frameworks and technologies. Python Developers usually focus on back-end coding, scripting, and application logic. While both roles require Python expertise, Stack Python professionals work across the entire technology stack, whereas Python Developers specialize in server-side development.

What are the typical responsibilities of a Stack Python developer in a collaborative development team?

As a Stack Python developer, you are often responsible for building both backend and, sometimes, frontend components of web applications using Python frameworks like Django or Flask. In a collaborative team environment, your daily tasks may include writing and reviewing code, participating in code reviews, integrating APIs, and working closely with designers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver features. You may also assist in troubleshooting bugs, optimizing application performance, and contributing to deployment processes. Effective communication and teamwork are key, as projects usually involve coordinating with various stakeholders and adhering to agile methodologies.

Will AI replace Python coders?

Python developers are essential for creating, maintaining, and optimizing AI systems, as AI tools still require human expertise for design, debugging, and ethical considerations. While AI can automate certain coding tasks, it is unlikely to fully replace Python programmers in the near future, especially those with skills in machine learning, data analysis, and software development. Continuous learning and adapting to new tools remain important for Python coders to stay relevant in the evolving tech landscape.

What is a Stack Python developer?

A Stack Python developer is a programmer who specializes in using the Python programming language to build and maintain software applications across different layers of a technology stack. This can include backend development with frameworks like Django or Flask, frontend work using tools such as JavaScript and React, and sometimes even database management. Stack Python developers are valued for their versatility and ability to handle multiple aspects of a project. They often collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient solutions using Python and related technologies.

Is Python full stack developer a good career?

A Python full stack developer is a versatile role that involves working with both front-end and back-end technologies, often using frameworks like Django or Flask. It offers strong job prospects due to high demand for Python skills, and developers typically need knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and databases. This career can be rewarding with opportunities for growth in web development, data analysis, and automation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python Developer, you need strong programming skills in Python, a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, and often a relevant degree or coding bootcamp experience. Familiarity with frameworks like Django or Flask, version control systems such as Git, and databases like PostgreSQL or MongoDB is typically required. Problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication help you collaborate and deliver reliable solutions. These skills ensure you can build, maintain, and optimize software applications efficiently in dynamic development environments.

How much does a full-stack Python developer make?

A full-stack Python developer's salary typically ranges from $70,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and skill set. Developers proficient in frameworks like Django or Flask and familiar with front-end technologies tend to earn higher salaries.

Could you be the full-time (on-site) experienced Full Stack Software Developer in Pittsburgh, PA we're looking for?
Your future role
As a Full Stack Developer, you will join the EBI Screen 2000 product development team. EBI Screen 2000 is a mission-critical enterprise application built on a modern microservices architecture, deployed on RKE2 Kubernetes clusters. You will contribute to the end-to-end development, enhancement, and maintenance of the product, working across backend services, frontend interfaces, DevOps practices, and test automation in a highly scalable, distributed environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse technology stack and deliver robust, high-performance solutions that power core business functions.
We will look to you for:
  • Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based components of the EBI Screen 2000 platform.
  • Implement backend services and APIs using server-side languages, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites using Robot Framework to ensure high product quality and regression coverage.
  • Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate deployments on RKE2 Kubernetes (Rancher Kubernetes Engine 2).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (program managers, QA, DevOps, and architects) in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incident resolution.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, technical documentation, and continuous improvement of the CI/CD pipeline.

All About You
We value passion and attitude over experience. Consequently, we do not expect you to possess every skill listed below. However, possessing some of the following qualities will support your success and growth in this role.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and at least two of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, or Go.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining applications in a microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework for test automation (writing keyword-driven tests, integrating with CI/CD, and maintaining test libraries).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, gRPC, message queues (e.g., Kafka, Artemis), and relational/no-SQL databases.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI etc.), and cloud platforms (Azure).

Preferred Skills
  • Advanced expertise in Robot Framework, including custom libraries, or API testing extensions.
  • Optional hands-on experience with Angular (or similar modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks) for building dynamic frontend applications.
  • Practical knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration with Kubernetes, specifically RKE2 or similar distributions.
  • Experience with additional languages or tools in the EBI Screen 2000 stack (e.g., deeper expertise across C++, C#, Java, Go).
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Helm) and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Understanding of security best practices, performance tuning, and distributed systems challenges.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub/portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
  • Experience in Rail Control Solutions - ATS and SCADA or enterprise-scale applications is a plus.

Important to note
As a global business, we're an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We're committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
