Job description

Build secure customer dashboards, policy-upload workflows, billing systems, analytics, and scalable SaaS infrastructure.

About PolicyPilot.com we are hiring the top 1%

PolicyPilot is disrupting the insurance market by transforming how businesses understand, review, and manage their risk. We are building the next generation of automated insurance intelligence, turning dense, complex policy documents into clear, actionable data. As we scale our platform, we are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer who thrives on building secure, robust, and highly scalable SaaS products from the ground up.

The Role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will have a massive impact on our core product engineering. You will own entire feature lifecycles—from architecture and database schema design to crafting seamless, intuitive user experiences. This role requires a strong blend of product engineering mindset, backend rigor, and frontend finesse, with an uncompromising focus on security and data privacy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architect & Build Workflows: Design and implement robust, high-performance file-processing pipelines for our core policy-upload workflows, ensuring resilient background processing and document parsing.
  • Develop Customer Dashboards: Create responsive, intuitive, and highly secure customer portals that allow clients to effortlessly interact with their policy data and analytics.
  • Own SaaS Infrastructure: Design, scale, and maintain our cloud infrastructure, emphasizing high availability, rapid deployment pipelines, and maximum uptime.
  • Implement Financial Systems: Build out and manage secure billing and subscription architectures (e.g., Stripe integration) alongside detailed usage tracking.
  • Drive Analytics: Develop data-rich analytics engines and reporting features to give users immediate, visual insight into their coverage gaps and premium metrics.
  • Lead Security Practices: Implement industry-standard security frameworks to protect highly sensitive enterprise and legal data across the entire stack.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ Years of Experience: Proven track record as a Full-Stack Engineer delivering production-grade SaaS products.
  • Modern Tech Stack Mastery: Proficiency with modern backend languages/frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go) and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, TypeScript).
  • Infrastructure & Cloud: Strong hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD automation.
  • Data & Scaling: Deep familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and handling heavy, asynchronous background workloads.
  • Security First Mindset: Practical experience implementing secure authentication (OAuth, SAML), encryption at rest and in transit, and adhering to strict compliance standards.
  • Product Ownership: You don't just write code to specifications; you care about the user journey, business logic, and making independent architectural decisions.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working in InsurTech, FinTech, or RegTech environments.
  • Familiarity with PDF text extraction, OCR technologies, or integrating LLM workflows into SaaS applications.
  • Early-stage startup experience where you had to wear multiple hats.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Flexible PTO and remote-first work culture.
  • Top-of-the-line hardware and workspace stipend.
  • The opportunity to be a foundational member of a fast-growing team shaping the future of insurance technology.
