Strong communication, reliability, and attention to detail are crucial soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure the well-being of the horses, smooth daily operations, and a safe working environment.

What does a stable assistant do?

A typical day for a Stable Assistant involves hands-on care of horses, including feeding, grooming, mucking out stalls, and ensuring that the stable areas are clean and safe. You may also be responsible for exercising horses, assisting with veterinary or farrier visits, and maintaining equipment. Stable Assistants work closely with trainers, riders, and other staff, so teamwork and communication are essential. The role can be physically demanding but offers valuable experience for those interested in equine care or advancing within the industry.
