Job description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

The Part-Time Art Teacher at St. Raphael the Archangel School is responsible for developing and delivering engaging visual arts instruction to elementary students in a faith-based learning environment. This role fosters creativity, artistic expression, and appreciation for art while supporting students’ overall academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate art lessons aligned with school curriculum and learning standards
  • Teach a variety of artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
  • Encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence in students
  • Integrate elements of art history and cultural appreciation into lessons
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and respectful classroom environment
  • Organize and manage art supplies, materials, and classroom space
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Display student artwork and contribute to school events, showcases, or exhibitions
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support cross-curricular learning
  • Uphold the values and mission of a Catholic school community
Qualifications
