Job Title: Gastroenterologist
Profession: Physician

Certifications: ACLS, BLS

Description:
Permanent placement position in gastroenterology.
There is no expectation or availability for endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) in this role.
Candidates should have strong ties to the local area.
We will consider unlicensed candidates with relevant connections.
We are looking for providers who are fellowship trained within one year of completing their residency.
Providers can start once credentialed.
Patient encounters per shift are 12.
The facility may have a patient load of 12 per shift.
The estimated credentialing timeframe is 90 days.
Specialty skills required:
Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser) are required.
Injection of varices is also required.
ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) is preferred for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) is required.
Esophageal dilatation and manometry are required.
Esophageal manometry interpretation is not required.
Small bowel biopsy is required.
Lower GI endoscopy, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy, is required with biopsy and excision of polyp.
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is preferred.
Liver biopsy is not required.
Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube are required.
