Overview

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the domestic violence shelter, ensuring a safe, supportive, and well-maintained environment for residents. This role involves supervising associates at the shelter, coordinating services, and implementing policies and procedures to support the shelter's mission. This position is primarily full-time evenings. 

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train shelter associates, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Ensure the shelter operates smoothly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Oversee the intake process, ensure residents receive appropriate services, and address any issues or concerns that arise.
  • Develop and enforce shelter policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to emergencies and crises, providing leadership and support to staff and residents.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on shelter operations, resident services, and staff performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Experience: 3+ years of leadership experience in a shelter or similar environment and knowledge of domestic violence issues and trauma-informed care practices
