About the job

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an Inside Sales Employment Specialist for our St. Peters, Missouri staffing office. This is a phone heavy inside sales and recruiting job. You'll spend most of your day making outbound calls, and a lot of those will be cold calls to companies that have never worked with us. When you land a job order, you switch hats and become a recruiter: you find the right person, interview them, and put them to work.

• You'll be calling plant managers, HR contacts, and business owners around St. Charles County to find out who's hiring and win their business.
• One good account can keep paying you commission well after the first placement.
• No staffing agency or recruiting experience needed. We'll teach you our sales process, our systems, and how the staffing industry works.
• The best people in this role love being on the phone and don't get rattled when a call doesn't go their way.

What you'd actually be doing

• Cold calling companies every day to win new business. Outbound sales calls are the biggest part of this job and the reason the commission exists.
• Taking job orders from client companies and getting the details right the first time.
• Recruiting, interviewing, and checking references on job seekers for light industrial, warehouse, clerical, administrative, and skilled trades jobs.
• Staying in touch with your clients and your working associates so small problems stay small.
• Keeping your notes and records current in our recruiting software. Sloppy notes cost you placements.
• Occasionally visiting client sites and doing safety tours. It's not all phone work.
• Pitching in on front office tasks when the branch gets busy, including the occasional timecard or billing question.

What the pay looks like

• Base salary of $45,000 to $50,000 per year depending on experience.
• Commission on top. The more business you bring in and the more people you put to work, the more you make.

• Paid, hands on training from your first day.

Who does well here

• People who came from sales jobs, retail, restaurants, collections, or call centers tend to pick this up fast.
• You need a high school diploma or GED and decent computer skills.
• You can keep several things moving at once without dropping any of them.
• Most of all, you genuinely like talking to people, because you'll do a lot of it.
