Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. This position is responsible for serving as the primary Registered Nurse delivering care to patients who are admitted to the Family Birth Center. This patient population may include low-risk and high-risk pregnancies, as well as providing care to postpartum patients and well newborns.

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others. Your sense of urgency and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment will not only support patient recovery but also fuel your own career advancement.

Some of the duties of importance: 

  • Conducts Maternal-Fetal Assessment.
  • Provides nursing support to the laboring patients, utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management.
  • Provides stabilization and transition of the normal newborn at delivery.
  • Circulates for Cesarean Sections.
  • Cares for the post-surgical patient.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing upon hire and one to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program or, New graduate with completion of senior practicum in L&D, Mother/Baby unit or nursery.
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire 
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 6 months of date of hire 


Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire 
  • Previous Mother-Baby experience 
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring offered by National Certification Corporation (NCC), or American Nurses Credentialing Center certification
