Position Description:

We CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about automation, modern engineering practices, and delivering high-quality software.
The successful candidate will develop automated testing solutions across API, application, and database technology stacks while contributing throughout the software development lifecycle.
This is a Full-Time, on-site employment opportunity based in the Cary, NC, area.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
. Develop automated tests for RESTful APIs and web services.
. Perform database validation and testing using SQL.
. Build reusable automation solutions using object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Python.
. Participate throughout the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines.
. Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and other engineering team members.
. Identify quality risks and drive improvements in test automation and engineering practices.
. Evaluate and recommend new testing technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
. Contribute to Agile team ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
At least 10+ years of experience in software development and testing:
. Strong experience testing RESTful web services/APIs.
. Hands on experience with REST Assured, Bruno, or similar API testing tools/frameworks.
. Strong SQL skills for database testing and validation.
. Object oriented programming proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
. Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins.
. Strong automation, analytical, and problem solving skills.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
. Experience working within Agile engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
. AWS or other cloud platform certifications.
. Experience developing RESTful web services using Java.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
