Job Summary
At ConocoPhillips the Lower 48 segment consists of operations located in the 48 contiguous U.S. states, with a portfolio mainly consisting of low cost of supply, short cycle time, resource-rich unconventional plays and commercial operations. The majority of our acreage is unconventional. Based on 2025 production volumes, the Lower 48 is our largest segment and contributed 67 percent of our consolidated liquids production and 74 percent of our consolidated natural gas production.
In 2025, net production averaged 1,484 MBOED.
Position Overview
The Staff Geospatial Intelligence Analyst serves as a senior technical leader responsible for delivering enterprise geospatial solutions that support safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role transforms complex location-based data into actionable business intelligence that improves operational performance, regulatory compliance, asset management, and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with operations, engineering, land, environmental, regulatory, and leadership teams, this position leads the development of geospatial applications, analytics, data governance practices, and automated workflows. The role also provides technical leadership, mentors GIS professionals, and drives innovation across enterprise geospatial initiatives.
This position is based in Midland, Texas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead advanced geospatial analysis and spatial modeling to support operational planning, asset management, infrastructure integrity, regulatory compliance, and business initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise geospatial data, applications, dashboards, and web-based mapping solutions that provide actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Design and implement automated GIS workflows using ArcGIS technologies, Python, APIs, Power Automate, and related tools to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Establish and maintain geospatial data standards, governance practices, quality assurance processes, and metadata requirements to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Integrate geospatial information with enterprise systems supporting operations, engineering, environmental, regulatory, and asset management functions.
  • Provide GIS and mapping support for field operations, capital projects, inspections, emergency response activities, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging geospatial technologies and recommend solutions that improve business performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a geospatial subject matter expert, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to solve business challenges through location intelligence.
  • Mentor GIS professionals and contribute to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and enterprise GIS strategy.
  • Maintain audit-ready geospatial records, documentation, and processes that support regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Geospatial Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 7 or more years of experience in GIS, geospatial intelligence, spatial analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting operational environments, infrastructure assets, energy operations, or similar complex business environments.
  • Experience developing enterprise GIS solutions and integrating multiple data sources and business systems.
  • Experience using Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) to automate, integrate, transform, and manage geospatial data and workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro
    • Spatial analysis and geoprocessing
    • Python and ArcPy
    • SQL and relational databases
    • Web GIS applications and dashboard development
    • Geospatial data governance, quality assurance, and quality control (QA/QC)
    • GPS and field data collection technologies

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting oil and gas operations, midstream infrastructure, utility networks, or pipeline systems.
  • Knowledge of pipeline integrity, damage prevention, regulatory compliance, and asset management programs.
  • Experience with drone and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) technologies, including geospatial data collection, imagery acquisition, and analysis.
  • Experience with remote sensing, LiDAR, imagery analysis, or mobile GIS platforms.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, and enterprise system integrations.
  • Experience applying advanced analytics, automation, or artificial intelligence to geospatial workflows.
