Job Description Summary:

The Senior Project Manager within the Focus IT organization is responsible for leading the planning, execution, governance, and successful delivery of complex, enterprise-wide technology programs and strategic initiatives. This role oversees projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery within strict deadlines, approved budgets, and defined quality standards. The Senior IT Project Manager partners closely with executive leadership, internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
This individual plays a critical leadership role within the IT Program Management Office (PMO), ensuring alignment between technology programs and organizational business objectives. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for establishing governance frameworks, standardizing delivery practices, driving continuous improvement through retrospectives, and providing executive-level visibility into program performance. This role may directly manage and mentor a team of project managers, business analysts, and data analysts while fostering accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence across the organization.
The Senior Project Manager will be instrumental in supporting enterprise transformation initiatives, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across the project portfolio.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, high-visibility projects and enterprise programs within the IT Program Management Office (PMO) portfolio, ensuring adherence to governance frameworks, delivery standards, and best practices

  • Define project scope, strategic objectives, success criteria, and deliverables aligned with business priorities and organizational goals

  • Develop and oversee detailed project plans, integrated schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies across multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Coordinate internal teams, executive stakeholders, third-party vendors, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution and delivery excellence

  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change controls throughout the full project lifecycle

  • Monitor project health, milestones, financial performance, and delivery status while providing regular executive-level reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, business analysts, and project teams to ensure accountability, strong execution, and high performance

  • Ensure quality assurance standards, governance requirements, and delivery best practices are consistently applied across all projects and programs

  • Conduct project reviews, lessons learned sessions, and post-implementation retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency

  • Manage strategic relationships with internal business leaders, clients, vendors, and all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and stakeholder satisfaction

  • Facilitate executive steering committees, project governance meetings, and cross-functional working sessions to support decision-making and remove delivery roadblocks

  • Drive execution across complex, cross-functional IT initiatives including ERP implementations, cloud migrations, system integrations, and digital transformation programs

  • Partner with business and technology leadership to define enterprise program roadmaps, prioritization strategies, and long-term resource planning

  • Implement and maintain portfolio-level dashboards, KPIs, reporting frameworks, and PMO transparency tools to support executive decision-making

  • Build and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Technology, or a related field required (Master's degree preferred)

  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of large-scale, enterprise-wide technology programs within a complex organization

  • Proven success managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Strong experience within IT Program Management Office (PMO) environments, including governance, portfolio management, and executive reporting

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring project managers, business analysts, and cross-functional project teams

  • Exceptional organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with strong executive presence

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization

  • Proficiency with Asana as a project management tool

  • Experience with Power BI for executive reporting, dashboard creation, and data visualization

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and financial oversight within project delivery

  • Project management certifications such as PMP, Agile, PRINCE2, Scrum, or equivalent strongly preferred

  • Experience leading large-scale enterprise technology initiatives such as ERP implementations, cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, or digital transformation programs

  • Experience managing remote, hybrid, or distributed teams preferred

  • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive alignment across business and technology functions

  • Strong analytical mindset, adaptability, and ability to lead through ambiguity and organizational change

This is an exempt position. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $135,000-$165,0000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
