TD Thornton is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Controls Analyst to oversee cost, schedule, and scope management across a portfolio of major construction projects in the electric utilities sector. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, project governance expertise, and the ability to manage cross-functional project teams. The ideal candidate will play a key role in project performance reporting, financial forecasting, and communication with senior leadership.
Your Day-to-Day Activities:
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Define work breakdown structures, dependencies, resource allocations, and baselines
  • Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections using SAP
  • Support project managers with business cases, budget tracking, and contingency management
  • Track and analyze project performance metrics for cost and schedule variance
  • Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and visualizations for management review
  • Manage accruals, financial tracking, and cost validation activities
  • Support contract administration and change order processes
  • Create streamlined presentations for senior management
  • Facilitate project meetings, ensuring timely follow-up on key deliverables
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with governance and audit standards
  • Identify and assess project risks, escalating potential impacts to leadership as needed
  • Provide clear, data-driven updates to executives and stakeholders

The Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Primavera P6, including use of dependencies, cost loading, resource loading, and resource leveling
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility construction or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in project scheduling and financial analysis, including accruals and forecasting
