A Brief Overview
You bring the skills-we'll match you to the right level and set you up to succeed. This position may be filled at the Technician, Senior Technician, or Master Technician level based on experience, qualifications, technical capabilities, and certifications.
Senior and Master Technician positions may include coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership responsibilities.
What You Will Do
  • Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality and exceptional customer service. Clean customer vehicles after every job.

  • Recalibrating automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and completing diagnostic testing.

  • Proficiently operate Safelite's tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals (as required bv the "Safelite Way of Fitting", work order and customer administration systems, and Safelite's handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.

  • Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.

  • Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; present, promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services to customers.

  • Senior and Master Technician levels will serve as a technical resource, support technician development, share best practices, and assist with coaching and mentoring activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Senior Technician: $28.00- $31.00/hr

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma GED/Equivalent Preferred

  • Valid state-issued driver's license any other license(s) (as required by federal, state and local laws) to operate a company vehicle. Required

  • Proven experience as an Auto Glass Technician (2+ years preferred)

Experience Qualifications
Applicants will be considered for Technician, Senior Technician, or Master Technician placement based on experience, technical capability, certifications, productivity, quality performance, leadership experience, and customer service excellence.
  • Technician: Typically 1+ years of vehicle glass installation, repair, replacement, recalibration, or closely related automotive service experience.

  • Senior Technician: Typically 3+ years of vehicle glass experience with demonstrated technical proficiency, quality performance, and independent operation.

  • Master Technician: Typically 5+ years of vehicle glass experience with advanced technical expertise and demonstrated mentoring, coaching, or training capability.

Experience ranges are intended as guidelines and may vary based on qualifications and business needs.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and agreement to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera / video surveillance technology

  • Maintains professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service and exceeding customer expectations

  • Ability to safely work outside (in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures) for extended periods

  • Ability to work with chemicals (including but not limited to flammable chemicals), as applicable per the "Safelite Way of Fitting"

  • Ability to work scheduled days, with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer's needs

  • Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and trouble-shoot issues

  • Problem-solving and ability to trouble-shoot issues, independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to read, write and interpret the English language and technical directions

  • Ability to communicate orally (via phone) and written (via computer or other electronic means)

  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance, adhering to Company uniform and PPE policies
