Overview

Scope of Position: The Program Operations Manager leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of leadership development experiences across WinShape Leadership. This role will serve pastors and non-profit ministry organizations by providing transformative experiences in leadership development, team enhancement, rejuvenation, organizational capacity, and community building. It translates program strategy into effective delivery models across events, cohorts, coaching, digital platforms, and other engagement pathways.

The role owns how programs are delivered, ensuring strong participant experiences, operational alignment, and long-term effectiveness. It serves as both a builder and facilitator, expanding leadership development beyond one-time events into sustained engagement for church and nonprofit leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of leadership development programs and services for church and nonprofit leaders, including retreats, workshops, consulting offerings, and digital experiences
  • Design and refine delivery models for in-person, virtual, and hybrid leadership experiences
  • Lead program execution, ensuring alignment with strategy, quality standards, and intended outcomes
  • Own the participant journey across events, cohorts, coaching, and ongoing engagement experiences
  • Facilitate selected leadership development sessions, cohorts, and group experiences while leading, equipping, and coaching facilitators to ensure strong participant experiences and consistent facilitation standards
  • Build and manage relationships with churches, nonprofits, and external program partners
  • Recruit, onboard, and provide ongoing leadership, coaching, and development to contract coaches, facilitators, and program partners, ensuring alignment, consistency, and excellence in delivery, with opportunity for expanded people leadership responsibilities over time
  • Partner with operations to define program structure, participant flow, and execution approach
  • Lead project management for program initiatives, pilots, and continuous improvements
  • Develop and implement feedback systems to improve program effectiveness and participant impact
  • Pilot and test new engagement approaches, including digital and community-based models
  • Contribute to long-term program strategy, evolution, and expansion
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Leadership, Business, Learning Design, Education, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, leadership development, learning experience design, or ministry/nonprofit leadership
  • 5+ years of direct people leadership experience
  • 5+ years of experience serving in a faith-based organization or substantial ministerial involvement
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and travel (approx. 15%)
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to design, improve, or evolve programs, systems, or delivery models
  • Experience in nonprofit, ministry, or faith-based environments preferred
  • Experience with coaching networks and/or digital or hybrid learning environments preferred
  • Exposure to program expansion, organizational growth, or long-term strategy development preferred
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team or group of direct reports or contractors, including coaching, development, performance feedback, and day-to-day direction
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other programmatic and operational positions across the organization
  • High level of autonomy on assigned programs and initiatives, with a proactive approach to leading work, pursuing stretch goals, and driving improvement
  • Ability to assess and solve moderately complex problems by designing innovative, non-standard solutions that improve program delivery
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams
