What you will do
In this role, you'll support the day-to-day operations that help investment portfolios run smoothly and efficiently. Working across a variety of asset classes, including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives, you'll help ensure transactions, portfolio activity, and investment data are processed accurately and on time.
You'll partner closely with brokers, custodians, fund accountants, and internal business teams to resolve issues, maintain data integrity, and support critical portfolio activities. This role offers broad exposure to investment operations, asset servicing, reconciliation, and process improvement, providing an opportunity to build expertise while contributing to the overall success of the investment platform.
This position is based in our office in Newark, NJ and will follow a hybrid schedule. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure ( 3 days in office) where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

What you can expect
Settlements & Transaction Support
  • Support the settlement of investment transactions across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and derivatives.
  • Coordinate with brokers, custodians, fund accountants, counterparties, and internal business partners to facilitate accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Monitor and resolve settlement exceptions, unmatched transactions, failed trades, and operational issues impacting portfolio activity.
  • Research and resolve inquiries related to trade, cash, FX, and other portfolio activity.

Reconciliations & Exception Management
  • Perform cash, position, transaction, and other operational reconciliations between internal records and external service providers.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks through research, analysis, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor operational controls and escalate material exceptions, processing breaks, or operational risks as appropriate.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of portfolio, accounting, and operational records.

Asset Servicing & Portfolio Support
  • Support the processing and review of dividends, interest payments, corporate actions, reorganizations, class actions, security litigation proceeds, and other portfolio lifecycle events.
  • Coordinate with custodians, brokers, fund accountants, and internal teams to ensure asset servicing events are processed accurately and timely.
  • Investigate and resolve exceptions related to income, corporate action, and other asset servicing activity.

Derivatives, Margin & Collateral Support
  • Support operational activities associated with derivative instruments, including futures, swaps, and other products as applicable.
  • Monitor margin movements, collateral activity, and related operational controls.
  • Assist with the investigation and resolution of derivative-related operational exceptions, reporting issues, and counterparty inquiries.

Analysis & Problem Solving
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Research root causes of operational breaks and partner with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
  • Support management reporting and operational reviews through data gathering, validation, and analysis.

Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and reduce operational risk.
  • Participate in automation initiatives, workflow enhancements, and operational improvement projects.
  • Contribute recommendations that improve scalability, service quality, and overall operating effectiveness.
  • Support testing and implementation activities associated with process and technology changes.

Note: Prudential is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $62,000 to $72,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
