Job Title: Tax Senior Manager

Location: Grand Rapids | Employment Type: Full-Time Hybrid

We are a well-established, client-focused CPA firm serving closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Our firm values technical excellence, long-term client relationships and a collaborative, flexible work environment. We are seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to lead tax engagements, mentor staff and serve as a trusted advisor to our clients.

Position Summary

 

The Tax Senior Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, manage client relationships, and provide leadership. This role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys hands-on work, values work-life balance and wants to play a meaningful role in a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities

·       Manage and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates

·       Serve as primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive tax planning and advisory services

·       Research and resolve complex tax issues; prepare and review technical memoranda as needed

·       Oversee tax compliance workflow, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and firm procedures are met

·       Mentor, train, and evaluate staff and senior accountants

·       Assist with firm management initiatives, process improvements, and client development efforts

·       Facilitate financial statement and compilation engagements for selected business clients.

Qualifications

·       CPA license required

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

·       8+ years of public accounting tax experience, with at least 2 years in a manager or senior manager role

·       Strong technical knowledge of individual and business taxation

·       Experience working with closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals

·       Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship skills

·       Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities independently

·       Experience working with QuickBooks is a plus
