ROLE OVERVIEW

BioLabs is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Business Development to lead high-impact initiatives that support the growth of BioLabs' global innovation ecosystem. Reporting to the Senior VP, Business Development, this role oversees the design, financial management, and execution of complex programs, including accelerator initiatives, strategic partnerships, and new site development across domestic and international markets. The ideal candidate combines scientific understanding with strong operational and financial discipline and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and oversee strategic Business Development programs, manage high-value partnerships, and drive ecosystem-building initiatives that support the organization's growth objectives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Business Development programs and events, ensuring alignment with broader organizational and regional strategies.
  • Manage and supervise Business Development Associates, providing guidance, coordination, and performance oversight.
  • Lead and coordinate development projects utilizing internal teams, external partners, and contracted suppliers, applying structured and systematic project management methodologies to achieve defined business objectives.
  • Co-develop and maintain detailed project plans and timelines, including objectives, milestones, execution strategies, and success metrics. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify key deliverables and ensure cross-departmental alignment and accountability.
  • Prepare briefing materials, executive summaries, and presentations for internal business reviews as well as external engagements with partners, customers, media, and industry analysts.
  • Contribute to market and location assessments, including primary and secondary research for potential expansion opportunities. Support the development of tailored proposals and strategic initiatives with prospective partners.
  • Establish and maintain project documentation repositories, including reports, dashboards, communications, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Analyze operational and ecosystem data from current sites and recommend improvements or enhancements to existing programs and initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at events, industry engagements, and ecosystem activities, including occasional evening events and domestic or international travel as required.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the broader Business Development function.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related scientific field (e.g., biology, biotechnology, chemistry, biomedical engineering); advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in life sciences, innovation ecosystems, or business development environments.
  • Experience managing and mentoring team members and coordinating cross-functional or multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate insights into strategic recommendations that support new business opportunities.
  • Strategic thinker with sound judgment, capable of adapting to evolving priorities and delivering results.
  • Global mindset with comfort working with domestic and international partners.
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) and attend occasional evening events as required.
