About the Role:
As a Senior Instrument Technician, you'll take the lead in installing, calibrating, commissioning, and maintaining complex instrumentation systems that keep critical industrial operations running safely and efficiently. You'll work hands on with a wide range of measurement and control technologies, support start ups and troubleshooting efforts, and ensure precision across essential systems such as boilers, chillers, water treatment, and more. Here's a glimpse into your day to day:
  • Install, Program, Troubleshoot, Commission and Calibrate the following types of instrumentation, Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow, Analytical, Pressure Switches, Temperature Switches, Limit Switches and Control Valves, using standard Measurement and Test Equipment Calibration Standards.
  • Performs installation of impulse tubing to transmitters and associated infrastructure.
  • Performs calibration of instrumentation necessary for maintaining production equipment, utility, power equipment and other auxiliary measurement systems including Boilers, Chillers, Water Systems, Wastewater Systems, and other types of Industrial Systems.
  • Complete calibration and service work in accordance with in-house procedures or site procedures
  • Provide technical support for calibration processes and procedures including creating procedures or job/work plans.
  • Complete Calibration Certificates and/or approve Certificates.
  • Allen Bradley RS Logix field exposure/experience.
  • PLC/HMI Troubleshooting, minor programming, installation of instrumentation and controls, and calibration.
  • Perform other duties as required.

You'll be a perfect fit if you have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or certification from trade school is strongly preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years experience working as an Instrument Tech within related industry, such as Power & Natural Gas, Chemical, Wastewater and Water.
  • Allen Bradley or RS Logix experience is required, certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of servicing and installing I&C equipment within manufacturing or industrial site
  • Knowledge of performing calibrations of instruments, including but not limited to: flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, radiation counters or detectors.
  • Knowledge of performing measurements for: analytical, pressure, volumetric flow, mass flow, ultrasonic flow, level, temperature, local controllers, LEL.
  • Experienced with creating and implementing Monthly Calibration Schedule.
  • Ability to adhere to client and company directions, policies and standards.
  • Ability to provide superior customer service
  • ISA CCST certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check to work on a government facility and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move about client's facilities and offices to access equipment and complete tasks.
  • Consistently operate instrumentation standards, computers, calculator, copy machine, printer and other devices to efficiently complete tasks.
  • Consistently ascend and descend portable and fixed ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various levels of height some of which maybe in excess of 25 feet in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend a large quantity of stairways at any given time.
  • Frequently move tools and equipment weighing up to 50lbs across client facilities as needed to complete tasks.
  • Occasionally lift and move equipment in excess of 100lbs in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.

Hours:
  • Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay: $45-55 Hourly (depending on experience)
  • Eligible for overtime pay
