SUMMARY: You will serve as the critical bridge between edge devices and the cloud, heavily focusing on operational excellence and DevOps practices. You will build the robust control plane that manages device onboarding, deployments, and fleet-wide commands at scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver zero-touch onboarding for repeatable device onboarding across supported integrations.
  • Execute fleet operations including configuration push, custom app lifecycles, firmware over-the-air (OTA) updates, and command execution at scale.
  • Manage safe cohort-based migration of legacy fleets followed by self-service expansion.
  • Design and build scalable backend services and APIs supporting device management, billing, authentication, and administration.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
  • Collaborate with Product, Platform, Cloud, and Customer Success teams to deliver reliable IoT solutions.
  • Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude-Preferred, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve engineering productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience , with a strong background in Industrial IoT and specific experience with LoRaWAN or related industry technologies.
  • Deep expertise in Linux (Ubuntu), Bash, and terminal-based administration.
  • Strong experience with container management and Docker, with a strong preference for Kubernetes experience.
  • Proficiency in building event-driven architecture and utilizing messaging systems.
  • Hands-on experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Lifting requirements up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires sitting for periods of time and occasional mobility.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
  • Our Minnesota facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food is allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
