Job Summary:
ShiftCode Analytics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Database Administrator responsible for all aspects of data analysis and database management. The role involves managing back-end systems, database provisioning, performance analysis, and supporting software development lifecycle tasks.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Work with Oracle Engineers and our service providers to deliver a highly available, resilient and performant database environment;
โ€ข Build new, or upgrade / patch existing databases and associated software in accordance with vendor best practices;
โ€ข Deliver required database functionality that meets project requirements on or before defined due date;
โ€ข Ensure the detailed physical design of data structures and database complies with enterprise build and configuration standards and processes;
โ€ข Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database and Enterprise Manager software on database and application servers as required;
โ€ข Provide consultation to application development teams on Oracle database technical issues and techniques;
โ€ข Conduct database performance testing and tuning, user configuration, security and support processes including gather stats, database backup/recovery, partition administration, etc;
โ€ข Ensure Oracle database environment is secure, provide recommendations for improving database security and implementing approved security remediations;
โ€ข Coordinate downtime with application teams and system engineers to implement approved changes;
โ€ข Interface with vendors and managed service partners to resolve operational issues or questions;
โ€ข Follow established IT / DBA policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Minimum 8 years of experience creating and managing Oracle databases and technologies
โ€ข Experience with versions 12.2 and newer, both standalone and multi-instance Real Application Clusters
โ€ข Demonstrated strong expertise in diagnosing and resolving database performance or reliability issues
โ€ข Strong background and hands-on experience administering Oracle Enterprise Manager ecosystem including agents, repositories and management servers in a highly-available, load-balanced configuration
โ€ข Familiarity with RedHat Linux OS versions 6 and newer
โ€ข Proven track record of implementing and administering Oracle DataGuard for replication
โ€ข Able to work independently and balance multiple concurrent projects with mid to long-term deliverables
โ€ข Hands on development and maintenance of UNIX Korn or Bash shell scripting
โ€ข Ability to provide technical direction to others, including application developers
โ€ข Comfortable in high-pressure situations, able to communicate well with both technical peers and leadership
โ€ข 4-year degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience in a related field of study
โ€ข Oracle database systems administration including RAC and ASM 19c (10+ years)
โ€ข Oracle database performance optimization (10+ years)
โ€ข Oracle database VLDB structures and partitioning management (10+ years)
โ€ข AWS RDS database administration, security, automation, CFTs, etc. (2+ years)
โ€ข Managing Oracle databases on Exadata platform (5+ years)
