The Client you will be working for is a Fortune 100 Oil and Gas Company. This opportunity will give you experience in the energy sector in the United States with a company that is a globally recognized leader in energy production and one of the biggest companies in the US.

SCHEDULE
Monday – Friday // 40 hrs/wk
COMPENSATION
$50-$56 per hour
CONTRACT TERM
10-month contract with the high likelihood of extension or conversion to full-time employee
POSITION OVERVIEW - The Controls Engineer IV provides senior-level onsite support for refinery DCS, SIS, and PLC control systems, with a primary focus on Siemens S7 PLC platforms and the H2 unit, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and support DCS systems, including:
System health, history modules, and database integrity
Server patching, reboots, and system load management
Graphics, alarms (non-logic), point configuration, and backups
Support PLC systems (primary Siemens S7; secondary Allen-Bradley), including:
Logic troubleshooting, updates, and basic configuration changes
Support SIS systems, including:
Annual testing coordination
Lifecycle support and inventory management
FAT participation and basic logic validation
Support routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
Troubleshoot and support 3rd party devices (e.g., Woodward, Trisen)
Maintain and troubleshoot data transfer logic and non-control integrations
Maintain control system network integrity, including:
o IP address governance for DCS/SIS/PLC systems
o Server and application node support (including reboots)
o Thin client and wireless I/O support
Maintain control system network integrity, including:

Support control system lifecycle activities, including upgrades, obsolescence management, and reliability improvements
Execute minor control system changes, including:
Basic control implementations (e.g., pumps, MOVs)
Functional testing and validation
Provide on-call support as required to ensure system reliability and rapid response to operational issues
Execution of assigned system support, troubleshooting, and change activities
Timely completion of control system updates and issue resolution
Routine reporting (alarm metrics, system status, etc.)
Documentation of all changes in accordance with COMPANY procedures
Coordination with COMPANY personnel to prioritize and execute work
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
8-10 years of experience
Experience with Siemens S7 PLC systems
Experience supporting refinery or industrial DCS/SIS/PLC environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems
Familiarity with process safety and MOC processes
