This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our office locations. 

The Senior Client Account Specialist position requires an accomplished professional with a proven background in client account management, customer service, and financial analysis within the legal industry.  Responsibilities include monitoring accounts, contacting clients with overdue balances, negotiating payment plans, and documenting collection efforts. The Senior Specialist serves as a liaison between the firm and its clients, helping maintain maximum realization of assigned portfolio. Essential job functions include:

  • Manage assigned attorney and client account portfolios, including high-value inventory, aged invoices, credit balances, and unbilled inventory. 
  • Develop and execute collection strategies that improve realization, reduce delinquencies, and resolve payment issues efficiently. 
  • Serve as a key liaison among attorneys, clients, practice assistants, leadership, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams regarding delinquencies, payment arrangements, compliance, and collection inquiries. 
  • Prepare leadership reports on delinquent accounts, at-risk inventory, collection trends, and recommended actions. 
  • Deliver exceptional service while supporting timely billing, effective collections, and adherence to engagement terms and outside counsel guidelines. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve collection outcomes and operational efficiency. 
  • Support onboarding, training, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in legal collections, client account management, or revenue operations within a law firm or professional services environment. 
  • Demonstrated success owning complex account portfolios, improving cash realization, and resolving sensitive client matters with professionalism and discretion. 
  • Execute tasks with a high level of judgment, integrity, and accountability.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage confidential financial and client information. 
  • Trusted partner to attorneys, firm leadership, clients, and cross-functional teams, with the ability to influence outcomes and drive alignment on collection priorities. 
  • Strong financial acumen, including a working knowledge of accounting principles, billing workflows, collections strategy, and legal services revenue cycles. 
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead multiple deliverables, and execute with precision in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. 
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel-based analysis, reporting, and portfolio tracking using tools such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. 
  • Executive-ready communication skills, with the ability to present insights, escalate risks, and recommend action to attorneys, clients, leadership, and internal stakeholders.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $63,000 - $128,000
  • State of Colorado: $58,000 - $103,000
  • State of Illinois: $57,000 - $110,000
  • State of Maine: $43,000 - $98,000
  • State of Maryland: $61,000 - $92,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $63,000 - $120,000
  • State of Minnesota: $63,000 - $104,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $68,000 - 123,000
  • State of New York: $58,000 - $126,000
  • State of Vermont: $62,000 - $119,000
  • State of Virginia: $41,000 - $119,000
  • State of Washington: $61,000 - $115,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $81,000 - $119,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
