Job Description: 

Contract opportunity for an ETL Data Developer consultant to work in the Eden Prairie office building as part of our Epic Integration project. The ETL Data Development Team designs, builds, tests, implements and supports the Client enterprise data environments including but limited to: Epic's Clarity ETL, in-house Clinical Data Warehouse, Epic custom Registry database, and other Client data stores. This position uses standard concepts, practices, and procedures that meet the technical specifications as designed by the Data Designer Analysts. The ETL Data Developer consultant will make use of the Microsoft SSIS ETL toolset (and IBM DataStage if applicable) and utilizes the ETL standard processes and procedures to move data, manage metadata, and ensure the integrity, validity, security and auditability of the data. This role follows standard development life-cycle processes (Agile/Lean) to gather technical specifications and create technical coding specifications including production, testing, and implementation plans. Hands-on experience in ETL development of data warehouses with technologies appropriate for the platform where development occurs will be a plus.


ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

Collaborate with technical team members, business liaisons, and end-users to deliver Data Integration ETL solutions

Develop, implement, and optimize ETL workflows and transformations

Implement standards and procedures for ETL development and tool configurations

Triage the resolution of complex data integration ETL issues in a timely manner

Serves as a key contributor to the design and development of exception handling, data standardization procedures, and Quality Assurance controls

Collaborate with the HealthPartners Reporting and Analytics teams to understand and document complex business issues

Develop the ETL packages to design specifications

Update package specifications with changes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

3+ years experience with ETL development and support & preferably with clinical care delivery and data warehouse development roles

Experience with Microsoft Tools & SQL Server, SSIS, TFS

Demonstrated experience with PL/SQL and knowledge of Oracle RDBMS (features, functions, & utilities)

Ability to estimate data development efforts

Ability to manage tasks and work independently

Strong documentation and diagramming skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated experience performing data integration utilizing ETL tools to develop, implement, and optimize ETL workflows and transformations

Demonstrated experience integrating data feeds from third party data stores to build data warehouse solutions and create integration (exports) to other internal database systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Practical experience using commonly accepted data warehouse methods such as the Kimball or Inmon models, early binding and late binding

Experience with AIX 5.x or equivalent UNIX operating system

Experience with IBM DataStage Tools

Experience with Clarity data models and Clarity ETL administration

Familiarity with SDLC (systems development life cycle) such as Agile/Lean and data modeling tools such as Erwin or Embarcadero

Understanding of data models, staging, landing and data cohorts, ODS, OLAP, multi-dimensional analysis, and various schemas

Experience with Epic EMR system
