Job Description

The SQL Server DBA role is to create and maintain relational databases, often using non-relational structures as a source, for data profiling and data cleansing purposes. This is critical to ensuring that data is as prepared as possible for the future migration part of Legacy replacement initiative (LRP). The SQL Server DBA will not only possess strong technical skills in the areas of database administration, data migration and data quality, but will also be exceptionally "hands on" and able to effectively perform work independently as well as part of a team with both business and technical team members.

Qualifications

Candidate must meet all the requirements below to be considered for the SQL Server DBA position:
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, analytical, problem solving, and information gathering skills along with fundamental technique troubleshooting abilities of RDMS.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a functional DBA maintaining SQL Server databases, performance tuning by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
Deep knowledge of T-SQL development and auditing of complex queries for optimal performance and improvement recommendations.
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining SQL server databases running on MS Windows Server.
Experience managing database security and user permission and privileges in accordance with application and database requirements.
Experience with Data Quality tools (IBM Information Server or Informatica Data Quality)
Experience with multidimensional Data Warehouses is a plus
Working knowledge of UDB or DB2 LUW is a plus
Experience migrating VSAM data to relational databases
Experience in Data Modeling is a plus
Experience in Pension Systems is a plus
