Job description

Position Overview  

Reporting Analyst will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and reporting pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. Reporting Analyst will support the business, reporting and data teams on reporting initiatives and will ensure optimal reporting delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the reporting needs of multiple teams, systems and products. They will also monitor the performance and quality of junior data and reporting analysts. 

Position-Specific Job Functions: 

•Review business requirements documents submitted by business units or other analysts for completeness and accuracy. 

•Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. 

•Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing report infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. 

•Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our reporting systems. 

•Create advanced or complex reports using T-SQL using provided business requirements 

•Automate reports by adding them to SSRS server and creating schedules and distributions 

•Create visualizations for dashboards and other reports in SSRS based on business requirements. 

•Create and maintain SQL Stored Procedures and Views for ease of reporting and consistency. 

•Design new database tables to allow new data to be imported based on business needs.  

•Investigate and find root cause for corrupted data, correct coding errors and related problems. 

•Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics. 

•Developing and maintaining databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format  

•Work with management to prioritize business and information needs 

•Mentor and coach junior data/reporting analysts as needed and perform quality control reviews of junior analyst’s work for completeness and accuracy. 

•Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

•5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS and SSIS 

•Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases 

•Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting 

•Strong mathematical and analytical skills to help collect, measure, organize, and analyze data 

•Accuracy and attention to detail 

•Strong verbal and written communication skills 

•3+ years’ experience in an analyst or similar role preferred 

•1+ years of experience in the Mortgage Servicing Industry strongly preferred 

•Working knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes preferred 

•BS in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics strongly preferred
