The Role
Power BI Developer to design, develop, implement and governance of Power BI solutions. Ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Power BI architecture, data modeling, governance, embedded analytics and database management. The role requires expertise in Power BI Data Gateways, report deployment, and governance frameworks ensuring scalable and secure data solutions.
As a PowerBI Developer, you will transform complex data into compelling visual stories and actionable business intelligence. You'll design interactive dashboards and comprehensive reporting solutions while building analytics frameworks that deliver critical insights across our website, mobile apps, and AI-driven recommendation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supply Chain Analytics: Create dynamic PowerBI dashboards for inventory tracking, forecasting models, and demand planning across 12,000+ products

  • Customer Intelligence: Build interactive reports and visualizations for customer journey analytics and personalization insights

  • Operational Excellence: Develop real-time dashboards and KPI monitoring systems for our fulfillment operations and logistics teams

  • Executive Reporting: Design comprehensive business intelligence solutions and executive dashboards that drive strategic decision-making across all business units

What You'll Do
  • Power BI Development & Reporting:

  • Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI reports and dashboards.

  • Create efficient data models to optimize performance and scalability.

  • Develop complex DAX expressions for business logic and calculations.

  • Optimize report performance by using best practices in Power BI and SQL

  • Power BI Architecture & Configuration:

  • Configure and manage Power BI Data Gateways for secure and seamless data access

  • Define and enforce Power BI workspace, dataset, and security policies.

  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and data governance best practices.

  • Establish data refresh schedules and ensure efficient data ingestion pipelines.

  • Maintain and enhance Power BI Premium and Embedded solutions.

  • Embedded Analytics & Integration:

  • Integrate Power BI reports with external applications using Power BI Embedded.

  • Work with Power BI REST APIs to automate workflows.

  • Integrate Power BI with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Microsoft Share point, Excel, Cloud data source etc.,

  • Database & Performance Optimization:

  • Write optimized SQL queries and stored procedures for report development.

  • Ensure high-performance data refreshes and query execution.

  • Work with ETL team to improve data integration with PowerBI

  • Governance & Security:

  • Define Power BI governance framework and best practices for standardization.

  • Monitor user access, performance, and usage analytics to drive efficiency.

  • Manage user roles, access controls, and data security.

  • Power Platform Integration:

  • Build PowerApps applications to extend Power BI functionality and create interactive business solutions

  • Automate data flows and report updates using Power Automate (Flows, Triggers, Approvals, Notifications, etc.).

  • Integrate Power BI, PowerApps, and Power Automate to create end-to-end business process automation.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Training:

  • Work closely with business users, data engineers, and leadership teams to understand and document reporting requirements.

  • Provide training and best practice guidance to Power BI users across the organization.

  • Develop self-service Power BI frameworks to empower business teams for reporting.

  • Troubleshoot Power BI performance and user issues.

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum of 3-5+ years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft Power BI.

  • Power BI Expertise: Deep understanding of Power BI Desktop, Service, and Embedded.

  • Data Modeling & Analytics: Solid understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and analytics principles. Ability to create meaningful insights through Power BI.

  • AI/GenAI: Experience leveraging LLM-based tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini to improve productivity in areas like query generation, DAX optimization, documentation, troubleshooting, and code acceleration. Ability to apply prompt engineering techniques and validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, performance, and governance compliance

  • Data Transformation: Strong expertise in DAX expressions, Power Query (M) and SQL for data transformation

  • Database Knowledge: Strong knowledge using databases like Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres. Familiarity with Cloud databases will be a plus.

  • Power BI Data Gateway: Experience with on-premises and cloud data gateway setup and configuration.

  • Embedded Analytics: Experience integrating Power BI into custom applications (Power BI Embedded, REST API, Power Automate, etc.).

  • Governance & Security: Familiar with Power BI Admin Portal, security models, compliance, and monitoring tools.

  • ETL & Data Integration: Understanding ETL tools.

  • CI/CD & Deployment: Experience deploying reports using DevOps pipelines, Power BI Deployment Pipelines.

  • Project Management: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, experience in an Agile environment, and the ability to manage project timelines and priorities.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and creatively to solve complex business problems with Power Platform solutions.

  • Experience with PowerApps and Power Automate for automation and low-code no-code solutions will be a plus.

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying enterprise-grade solutions using Power BI.

  • Proven track record of successful Power BI implementations and dashboard development

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at various organizational levels

  • Good communication and collaboration skills
