Job description

Fresh Express is a category leader in value-added salads, driving innovation, operational excellence, and consumer-focused growth across retail and foodservice in North America. As we continue to expand and evolve the category, we are seeking a highly analytical Finance Analyst to support profitable growth through advanced data modeling and actionable customer insights.

Position Overview

The Finance Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the commercial organization. This role is responsible for integrating complex data sets to deliver clear financial insights, including customer-level P&L analysis, trade optimization, and margin performance reporting.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with advanced analytics capabilities and can translate large volumes of data into strategic recommendations for Executive Leadership.

Detailed duties and responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and analyze detailed customer-level P&Ls across retail and foodservice accounts
  • Evaluate trade spend, pricing strategy, and promotional ROI
  • Lead month-end reporting, variance analysis, and financial trend reporting
  • Assess profitability of special projects and new business opportunities
  • Partner with Sales to support negotiations and commercial decision-making
  • Extract, consolidate, and validate data from multiple systems (ERP, trade management, syndicated data, freight, etc.)
  • Develop automated dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility and efficiency
  • Apply statistical analysis and predictive modeling to support forecasting and scenario planning
  • Identify trends, risks, and margin improvement opportunities using advanced analytics tools (SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Python, R)
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Agricultural Operations, and Manufacturing to align financial insights with business strategy
  • Support annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial modeling
  • Present insights with clarity and influence senior leadership

Minimum qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets
  • Proficiency in SQL and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or related field
  • 2 + years of experience in Financial Analysis, FP&A, or Commercial Finance
  • Consumer Packaged Goods, food manufacturing, or retail experience preferred
  • Strong analytical rigor and attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of margin drivers and cost structures
  • Ability to translate complex data into strategic insights
  • Strong communication skills and cross-functional influence
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
