Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Employment Type: Contract W2

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer with 10+ years of experience in Oracle database development, PL/SQL programming, performance tuning, and enterprise application support. The ideal candidate should have strong experience designing and developing complex database solutions, writing high-performance SQL/PLSQL code, and working closely with application and business teams.

The candidate will be responsible for developing database components, optimizing existing solutions, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to technical design and architecture discussions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL programs, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and cursors.

  • Develop complex SQL queries, views, materialized views, and database objects based on business requirements.

  • Perform Oracle database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, execution plans, and SQL tuning.

  • Analyze and resolve database-related performance and production issues.

  • Develop and optimize ETL/data integration processes involving Oracle databases.

  • Work with large volumes of transactional and analytical data while ensuring performance and scalability.

  • Participate in database design, data modeling, and technical solution discussions.

  • Develop reusable PL/SQL components and establish coding standards and best practices.

  • Perform data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and migration activities.

  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide root-cause analysis and permanent solutions.

  • Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, QA teams, and other technical teams.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure development follows established standards.

  • Support database deployments across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.

  • Create technical documentation for database processes, procedures, and solutions.

  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the development team.

Required Technical Skills
  • 10+ years of Oracle PL/SQL development experience

  • Strong expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL

  • Oracle Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, Triggers, Cursors

  • Complex SQL queries and query optimization

  • Oracle performance tuning and troubleshooting

  • Execution Plans, Indexing, Partitioning, and SQL optimization

  • Oracle database design and data modeling

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and database concepts

  • Experience with data migration and data integration

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills
  • Oracle 11g/12c/19c experience

  • Experience with Informatica PowerCenter/IICS or other ETL tools

  • Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting

  • Experience with database migration and modernization projects

  • Knowledge of AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform cloud database environments

  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, or other DevOps tools

  • Experience working with REST APIs and application integration

  • Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, or high-availability environments

  • Experience with financial services, banking, healthcare, or other enterprise applications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
