Job Description

The Software Developer I is responsible for designing, documenting, developing and supporting custom software solutions for STCU using modern programing languages with moderate supervision. This position will work as an effective member of an Agile/SCRUM team and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure our custom software solutions meet the needs of the credit union.

Core Job Requirements/Outcomes

  • Ensure a world class experience for our members and employees by designing, developing, testing and deploying custom software solutions using programming languages and services such as.NET/C#, Azure, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS and SQL
  • Ensure consistent and repeatable delivery of our custom software applications by working as a supportive and contributing member of a development team within an Agile/SCRUM environment, performing code reviews, database development, interacting with dependent systems, executing APIs, supporting the Continuous Deployment system and executing deployments across all environments.
  • Ensure applications are operational, performant and responsive by reviewing logs, responding to alerts, fixing bugs, working help tickets and performing maintenance on our systems to ensure maximum up time.

Other Essential Functions

  • Ensure all custom software is free of known security vulnerabilities to ensure the safety of our member's and employee's data.
  • Create and maintain documentation necessary to support our applications.
  • Stay up to date on modern software development best practices.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Job Experience: Minimum one year of experience in a software development position preferred.

Software Skills: Experience developing custom software applications using modern programming languages such as C#/Java, web development technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript, database development with SQL and API development/integration. Experience with source control such as Git and Continuous Integration platforms like TeamCity is preferred. Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Must live within daily commuting distance of STCU headquarters located in Liberty Lake, Washington.

Other: Perform additional duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the department and the organization. This includes the possibility of being assigned temporarily to other locations.
