Job description

***HYBRID POSITION IN CORONA, CA***

Job Summary

The Database Developer designs and builds SQL code to support application features, reporting, and integration. This role supports data modeling, performance tuning, and cross-system logic within DoD-compliant environments. Database Development: Designing, coding, and debugging stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL. Performance Tuning: Analyzing SQL queries and optimizing database performance, indexing, and tuning techniques. Data Modeling & Migration: Translating logical designs into physical database objects and managing data migration. Support & Maintenance: Providing technical support, troubleshooting production issues, and performing code reviews.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement stored procedures, triggers, and functions
  • Support normalized schema design and indexing strategies
  • Develop and maintain ETL jobs and data pipelines
  • Provide query tuning and performance improvement recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with secure coding standards

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, relational database design, and normalization
  • Current Security+ CE Certification
  • Expert knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • Familiarity with Oracle Database 19c
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Quest Toad
  • Experience with ETL processes and data warehouse concepts
  • Experience with Oracle Database on Linux
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity and audit controls
