Senior Lead Oracle Forms & Reports (Ref: 5781)

Location: Sacramento, CA Duration: 3 years Rate: DOE

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead to support the maintenance, enhancement, and ongoing technical operations of a large-scale legacy Oracle Forms & Reports application environment. The Senior Technical Lead will provide hands-on technical development and support while serving in a lead capacity for application maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting, database development, deployments, and related technical activities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle Forms/Reports, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Forms Builder, Oracle databases, SQL/PL/SQL, Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer, Jaspersoft, and related development and support tools.

Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience aligning IT systems with organizational business processes.
  • At least five (5) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.
Education:
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Mandatory Qualifications and Required Experience:

Candidates must also possess the following experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing and supporting technical solutions using Oracle Forms/Reports 12c, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Forms Builder, and Oracle 12c database, including:

    • Creating and modifying Oracle database objects.
    • Expert-level SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.
    • At least two (2) years of this experience in a lead capacity.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience authoring technical documentation, including documents such as:

    • Design documentation.
    • Deployment procedures.
    • Run books.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience using Apache Subversion (SVN) code repository software.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience developing Oracle Forms/Reports code for deployment to a Windows platform.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience using telnet/remote-access tools such as:

    • PuTTY.
    • FileZilla.
    • Windows Remote Desktop.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience using TOAD Developer for Oracle databases and/or equivalent Oracle database utility or diagnostic tools for:

    • Troubleshooting database bugs and issues.
    • Troubleshooting query performance.
    • Diagnosing problems identified through database diagnostic tools.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience using and configuring Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer, including:

    • Discoverer Administrator.
    • Discoverer Desktop.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience developing Jaspersoft reports.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience writing SQL and Unix scripts.
Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Technical Lead will support activities that may include:

  • Maintain, enhance, troubleshoot, and support legacy Oracle Forms & Reports applications.
  • Develop and modify application modules, forms, interfaces, database objects, SQL/PLSQL code, and related components.
  • Diagnose and resolve application, database, reporting, and performance issues.
  • Review existing source code to determine and document business logic.
  • Perform data conversions and data migrations.
  • Perform technical testing and support application deployments.
  • Maintain and support backend and scheduled jobs.
  • Develop and maintain Oracle BI Discoverer End User Layer (EUL) components, including Business Areas, Folders, and Discoverer Reports.
  • Create and modify Jaspersoft reports.
  • Participate in technical planning, design, and solution sessions.
  • Provide level-of-effort estimates for proposed technical work.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including interface design specifications, deployment runbooks, modification summaries, data dictionaries, and related technical artifacts.
  • Maintain source code and scripts within designated code repositories.
  • Support change and release management activities.
  • Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions with technical developers and business support personnel.
  • Participate in project meetings and Agile/Scrum activities.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with organizational business processes.
