Job Title: SQL DBA

Location: Houston, Texas (Onsit)

Contract to Hire role with no visa sponsorship available

Job Description

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 12 years of SQL Server DBA experience managing a large number of Microsoft SQL Server databases, including SQL Server 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014, and 2012.
  • Strong experience administering and supporting PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, and high-availability solutions.
  • Windows Server and SQL Server clustering experience is required.
  • Strong SQL and T-SQL scripting skills.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL query optimization, indexing strategies, database maintenance, and migration between SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
  • Critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude and disposition to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS administration and support experience.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server replication, log shipping, and Always On Availability Groups.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, and Azure networking concepts.
  • Experience managing, migrating, and optimizing SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases in Azure cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Azure security, high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and performance optimization best practices.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools is a plus.
  • AWS cloud experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Idera auditing tools, SOX controls, and management of SQL databases in DMZ environments.
  • Oracle database management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
