Overview:
SQL Database Administrator
6-12+ Months contract
Remote
Responsible for the administration, performance, security, and availability of SQL Server databases. This role will manage database installations, upgrades, backups, recovery, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning while supporting development and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain SQL Server databases and environments.
  • Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and optimize queries and performance.
  • Implement database security, access controls, and best practices.
  • Support deployments, migrations, upgrades, and data-related projects.
  • Collaborate with Developers, Infrastructure, and Business teams.

Qualifications:
- 4+ years of SQL Server DBA experience, strong T-SQL skills, and experience with backup/recovery, performance tuning, high availability, and database security
- Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL Server, and SQL Availability Groups
- Experience working with Windows Server and Azure
- Experience Monitoring and Troubleshooting issues with IO, Memory, and CPU
- Position requires the ability to maintain and manage multiple databases for both internal and hosted environments
- Individual must work independently with a "get-it-done" personality.
