Job Description

Hello,

My name is Ananth and I'm a Technical Recruiter at TekWissen. We are an Ann Arbor, MI based organization. I wanted to let you know about an opportunity we have that might be of interest to you. I have shared description below. If you are interested with the position please revert me at [email protected]  as soon as possible

Position   :  SQL DBA

Location   :  Austin, TX

Duration  : 6months

This person will help build a bridge between old and new database.

Job Summary:
Will help client merge Siebel/Lodestar data (and possibly 3rd party data as well) with the SAP data. May also help build internal tools to prepare for the upcoming conversion.
Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to merge historical data from our current Siebel, Lodestar and other homegrown systems with data from our new SAP system. In addition, this position will help the TX residential business build tools to help us prepare for the upcoming conversion. This position will require someone with good analytical skills who can work semi-independently to come up with creative solutions to solve problems. The person in this position will create views, tables and possibly functions that will allow us to easily query data across both datasets. The first task will be to review existing code to identify the most frequently used fields in our current systems. Once the relevant fields and tables have been identified and prioritized, those data will need to be transformed to easily merge with data in the new system. The challenge will be that not all data will line up perfectly, so in some cases, we may need to determine what the "equivalent" value is and write queries accordingly.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must be an expert in writing SQL (minimum 5 years experience)
  • Must be proficient working with Oracle and PL/SQL
  • Experience building applications in Access using Visual Basic for Applications
  • Must be able to work semi-independently, learn quickly and come up with creative solutions to complex problems
  • Must be able to reconcile different methods of storing similar data

Preferred Skills and Experience but not required:

  • A bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field is a big plus
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Experience building ASP.net applications which interact with a database
  • Experience working with Siebel, Lodestar or SAP
  • Experience in the energy industry or other utility-type services

The contract period is for 3-4 months (could go longer depending on need). They must have Hard Core SQL Dev. With experience writing complex queries and very large data sets(30 million). They also would like experience in Oracle and writing PL SQL. A nice to have but not required is application experience writing ASP.NET or Microsoft Access. They need to be able to take initiative and ask questions if they need help, as it is a fast paced environment and the manager won't be able to be available for a ton of support.

Thanks and Regards
