We are seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) & Systems Administrator to manage, optimize, and maintain our enterprise data and server infrastructure.


This role balances database administration (approximately 25%) with server and software installation, maintenance, and systems operations across a production environment.


Operating within a regulated financial framework (SOX/SOC II compliance), you will collaborate across technical teams and work independently to ensure high availability, security, and integrity across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.


This position is based out of our Austin, Texas location under a hybrid work model (3 days in-office: Tuesday-Thursday; 2 days remote option).

  • Database Administration & Management: Administer, monitor, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016 through 2022) using SQL Management Studio, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Profiler, and Extended Events.
  • Systems & Server Administration: Perform day-to-day server installation, operating system configuration, Active Directory management, and routine OS patching across physical and virtual (VMware) server environments.
  • Cloud & Operations Support: Support database and server workloads in Microsoft Azure and maintain automated processes using PowerShell scripting and Azure DevOps workflows.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and operational issues across a complex network of 1,000+ servers and 300+ SQL Server instances.
  • Security & Compliance Oversight: Adhere to strict regulatory standards (SOX, SOC II) and internal change management protocols to maintain data integrity and security across all systems.
  • Deployments & Documentation: Execute occasional scheduled after-hours software and database deployments. Maintain clear, structured technical documentation for operational processes and configurations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with project teams and ad-hoc task forces in a fast-paced environment while handling concurrent work streams.

SQL Server Expertise: 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016 to 2022), T-SQL development, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.


Operating Systems Infrastructure: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Windows Server OS (2016+) and Client systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory.


Virtualization & Scripting: 2+ years of experience with VMware or virtual server infrastructure, along with 1-2+ years of experience using Microsoft PowerShell for automation.


Cloud & DevOps Familiarity: Practical experience working in Microsoft Azure cloud environments and Azure DevOps.


Environment Knowledge: Background working in complex, integrated production environments with formal change control procedures.
