Job Description
Provide support and technical assistance to local education agencies (LEAs) on ESC 2 sponsored financial information management system. Lead efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiencies to facilitate successful implementation and use of the ASCENDER Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Education Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of accounting, business, or computer science preferred (required)
  2. Minimum 3 years in creating and supporting data ETL (Extract, Transform and Load)
  3. Minimum 3 years with PEIMS support
  4. Experience in Financial Accounting based on GAAP accounting principles
  5. Experience in Payroll, Accounting, Position Management and Budget Forecasting
  6. Experience in end-of-year auditing analysis

Special Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Extensive knowledge of financial management system processes including financial management, budget management, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, warehouse, human resources, payroll, position management and overall begin-of-year and end-of-year process.
  2. Knowledge of PEIMS Data Standard and business rules
  3. Knowledge of PEIMS, UID, TIMS, TREX and TEAK
  4. Ability to lead customer user groups and professional development events for ESC 2 information systems clients
  5. Ability to analyze and evaluate simple accounting or data entry problems including identifying errors and offer provide technical support for correction
  6. Lead the efforts on the creation and maintenance of user documentation and training materials
  7. Knowledge of SQL or other database querying languages
  8. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns and insights that can contribute to process improvements
  9. Excellent problem-solving and an aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues
  10. Excellent organizational and presentation skills
  11. Excellent oral and written communications skills
  12. Knowledge of or experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as ASCENDER, Skyward, eSchoolPlus, Munis

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Knowledge of school business procedures including payroll processing, personnel data entry, bank reconciliation, accounting and data processing
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of general accounting/bookkeeping troubleshooting for general ledgers, account codes, school budgets, etc.
  3. Ability to analyze and evaluate simple accounting or data entry problems including identifying errors and offer provide technical support for correction
  4. Ability to communicate effectively and provide support LEA business personnel through trouble shooting and yearly rollover processing

Program Management:
  1. Actively markets available services to new and existing potential clients
  2. Assists the department in the management of the information systems operations including selecting materials and resources for the program, participating in innovative projects, assisting with training for LEA staff
  3. Performs other duties as assigned
  4. Assumes responsibility for implementing support services to customers through formal and informal procedures
  5. Demonstrates an increasing knowledge of computer operations, software and information systems solutions
  6. Conducts training for the local education agency staff in areas of supported software and procedural changes specific to school business
  7. Provides telephone and on-site consultation in support of the Texas Enterprise Information System ASCENDER software, the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS), Time Clock Plus, and other software systems as needed
  8. Participates in required program meetings/trainings/events to meet program goal
