The Senior SQL Engineer will lead the design, optimization, and maintenance of mission-critical data systems that power our healthcare operations. This includes planning, developing and maintaining company databases while solving performance challenges in a complex environment. This role will also work closely with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and IT leadership to ensure our data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure.

In this role, you will…
  • Architect and optimize complex SQL Server databases, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across high-volume healthcare systems
  • Design and implement advanced T‑SQL solutions including stored procedures, triggers, views, and indexing strategies for mission‑critical applications
  • Lead performance tuning efforts, including query profiling, execution plan analysis, and database refactoring to reduce latency and improve throughput
  • Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines using SSIS or custom frameworks to ingest, transform, and deliver healthcare data across systems
  • Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD pipelines for database deployments, version control, and rollback strategies
  • Drive data architecture decisions, including normalization, partitioning, and schema evolution to support long‑term growth and analytics
  • Mentor junior developers, conduct peer code reviews, and establish SQL development standards and best practices
  • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Automate and monitor overnight jobs and scheduled processes, ensuring proactive resolution of failures and bottlenecks
  • Manage production environments, triaging issues across web applications, databases, and third‑party integrations
  • Document and maintain operational procedures, data flow diagrams, and system dependencies for transparency and continuity
  • Analyze system metrics, identify root causes of performance degradation, and recommend long‑term solutions
  • Participate in strategic planning, contributing to data governance, compliance, and security initiatives
  • Support system upgrades and deployments, including early morning or after‑hours maintenance windows

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 5+ years of experience in an information technology role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven ability of requirement development experience with strong analytical and prioritization skills to ensure business expectations and goals are met
  • Deep expertise in T‑SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft tech stack (.NET, Visual Studio)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) and automated deployments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word and Access
  • Possess critical thinking skills with proven ability to identify and analyze complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options to implement solutions
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments and prioritize a variety of projects in a fast‑paced environment to meet deadlines
