The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Reporting Consultant to provide expert-level data analysis and reporting for our critical business functions. This role is pivotal in delivering essential reports, supporting strategic decisions, writing efficient SQL code, and driving process automation within our databases to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our membership reporting.

Your Day to Day

  • Innovate and Optimize: Play a critical role in developing, automating, and streamlining our reports and processes. Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual production reports that are essential for both internal business decisions and external regulatory agencies.
  • Drive business forward as a strategic partner to internal teams, including Finance, Sales, and Product Management, by fulfilling ad-hoc reporting requests and providing the data they need to succeed.
  • Support system design, coding, and documentation. Accurately translate business rules and requirements into system logic and resolve issues when they arise. Leverage Claude Code and other advanced AI tools to optimize workflows and drive operational efficiency.
  • Set up new products and manage existing products within our databases. Work with Contracts, Online Benefits, and other internal areas on product related issues, questions, and requests. Coordinate with Sales and project leads when new plans are brought to market or existing plans are cancelled.
  • Collaborate and Influence: Work closely with cross-functional teams on a variety of projects. Participate in workgroups for new product introductions and contribute essential data for RFPs.

We're Looking for:

  • Technical Proficiency:Extensive experience with SQL, databases, data analysis, and reporting. Highly skilled in SQL, Visual Studio, SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Experience migrating processes from one environment to another, such as MS Access to SQL Server Management Studio/SSIS. Experience with Claude Code and ETL processes a plus.
  • Industry Expertise:A strong background in the health insurance industry, with a solid understanding of membership reporting requirements, metrics, and the sales and enrollment processes.
  • 10+ years of related experience.

  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a business-related field. Master's Degree a plus.
  • Collaborative Spirit:A proven ability to work effectively and build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional Communication:Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and compelling information for various audiences.
