Job description

Position Overview: The Superintendent will be responsible for the daily oversight, coordination, and execution of field operations related to glazing and paneling projects. This role involves managing project schedules, supervising field personnel, maintaining safety and quality standards, and acting as the main point of contact between field crews, project managers, and general contractors. The Superintendent plays a critical leadership role in ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, on time, within budget, and in alignment with project specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all on-site operations including glass installation, framing, and hardware installation to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.
  • Coordinate daily job site activities and manage crews to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and general contractors to resolve issues and maintain progress.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure alignment with construction documents, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Lead daily job site meetings and participate in Foreman’s/Handoff/Production Meetings to discuss planning, safety, and efficiency opportunities.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure all team members comply with OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, time sheets, delivery receipts, and incident logs.
  • Oversee field inventory, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper use and timely maintenance or replacement.
  • Support the Disciplinary Program and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Train and mentor field staff, promoting professional growth and ensuring high performance levels.
  • Coordinate with the office and logistics team to ensure timely material delivery and proper job site setup.
  • Ensure vehicles, equipment, and trailers assigned to the field team are maintained and compliant.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction experience, including supervisory or superintendent roles in commercial glazing or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial glass and panel installation practices, equipment, and tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, reports, project scheduling, and job costing.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • OSHA 30 Construction Industry certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in high-paced environments with multiple priorities.
  • Complete understanding of Company Safety Health and Management Program
  • Requires a valid driver's license to perform job duties.
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites as required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
  • The incumbent will occasionally be required to lift but not limited to 50 lbs.
  • The incumbent will be exposed to the loud noise of construction equipment and traffic.
  • The incumbent will also be exposed to the following conditions while on the job site:
    • Work near moving mechanical parts
    • Work in high, precarious places
    • Fumes or airborne particles
    • Outdoor weather conditions
    • Extreme cold (non-weather)
    • Extreme heat (non- weather)
    • Risk of electrical shock
    • Vibration
