Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)Practice Overview

At Valley Brook Dental, we are committed to providing advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry with a meticulous, patient-first approach. Located in McMurray, PA, our modern, single-doctor practice features 5 state-of-the-art operatories (3 dedicated to the doctor, 2 to hygiene). We are a fully digital office equipped with top-tier technology, including digital scanning for implants, crowns, and bridges, a dental milling machine, a SprintRay 3D printer, and a Cone Beam CT scanner. We treat our team and our patients like family-if you are a skilled EFDA looking for a collaborative, high-tech environment, we would love to meet you!


Position Details
  • Position Title: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

  • Employment Category: Full-Time

  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)

  • Compensation Range: $23.00 โ€“ $27.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

Job Responsibilities

As an EFDA at our practice, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality restorative care and managing advanced clinical workflows. Your primary duties will include:

  • Placing high-quality dental restorations.

  • Performing digital intraoral scanning for crowns, bridges, and implant planning.

  • Operating our in-office milling machine to fabricate restorations (we are fully willing to train the right candidate on this technology!)

  • Providing efficient, proactive chairside assistance to the Doctor during various advanced procedures.

  • Ensuring operatories are properly sterilized, stocked, and prepared for patient care.


Required & Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification: Valid Pennsylvania EFDA Certification is required.

  • X-Ray Certification: Current dental X-ray certification is required.

  • Experience: Experience with digital workflows (scanning, 3D printing, or milling) is a plus, but we are highly enthusiastic about training a motivated candidate on our specific software and machinery.

  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, a warm patient-side manner, and a desire to work closely within a tight-knit, tech-forward team.
