Job description

Product Development & Systems Engineering Intern

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: $32-$35/hr

About the Role

We’re looking for technical problem-solvers who want to learn how products are designed, built, tested, and scaled. This role is ideal for students in Product Development Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or adjacent majors who want exposure to full-stack product development spanning hardware, software, and AI-powered workflows.

This internship is designed to expose you to multiple facets of product management. This internship exposes you to multiple facets of product management across our three product tracks: Workflow, Software, and Hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to early-stage product concepts, V0 prototypes, and validation experiments across hardware and software

  • Learn SprintRay's 3D printing technology from the ground up—running prints, post-processing parts, troubleshooting failures, and documenting what works (and what doesn't)

  • Work hands-on with SprintRay devices to understand workflows and identify improvement opportunities

  • Analyze product usage data and customer behavior patterns to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Help optimize printing workflows based on real-world testing and user feedback

  • Document findings, create process improvements, and contribute to internal knowledge bases

  • Build V0 prototypes or automation workflows using AI tools

  • Participate in customer visits and user research sessions to understand real-world problems

  • Ship features or workflow improvements end-to-end with mentorship

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Master's degree (or final year of undergraduate) in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Product Development or related technical field

  • Builder mentality – you’ve designed and built things (software prototypes, automation workflows, AI agents, side projects, startups, etc.)

  • Data fluency – can analyze datasets and extract actionable insights

  • Intensely curious – you take things apart (literally or figuratively) to understand how they work

  • Strong bias for action – you'd rather build and test than debate hypotheticals

  • Good judgment about user experience and product quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with high-tech products: 3D printers, IoT devices, drones, connected home devices, robotics, or similar

  • Experience with rapid prototyping, vibe coding, or AI-assisted development

  • Portfolio of side projects demonstrating technical depth and product thinking

  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma) or CAD software

  • Dental industry exposure and knowledge

Internship (3 months, Full-time)
