Description / Position Overview
SEASONAL - Sprayground Attendant (PT Rec & Camp Support)
About the Job: Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services seeks an Sprayground Attendant to perform facility, program, and supervisory duties in accordance with Recreation Services Program Standards.
Job Type: This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).
Work Schedule: Thursday-Sunday, 4-7 hours/day during the summer; possible rental and food pantry distribution during school year as needed.
Anticipated dates of employment are from May 17th, 2026 through September 12th, 2026. Hours worked and start dates will vary based on department and specific location needs but be between 9:30am and 5:30pm, 20 to 40 hours per week. Work hours may be reduced from August 9th through September 7th. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.
As a Sprayground attendant, you will:
  • Assist in supervising sprayground (waterpark) visitors and onsite volunteers
  • Assist in upkeep and maintenance of the sprayground, pavilion, and community center
  • Assess needs and interests of customers
  • Prioritize daily job duties and maintain a safe and clean environment at all times
  • Provide necessary first aid; complete required paperwork
  • Maintain accurate records of daily maintenance
  • Demonstrate support for administrative decisions
  • Attend all trainings and complete required certifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Possess, or obtain within 30 days of hire, First Aid and CPR certifications (training will be provided)
