Job description

The Services Manager / Product Development Specialist role is pivotal in driving business development, collaborating with sales, product management, technical services, brokers, distributors, and customers. This role provides technical support, application development expertise, and technical information while working cross-functionally across the organization.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive business development with increased sales revenue and margin for target markets in concert with the

Director of Sales.

• Train brokers, distributors, and other business development partners on product line, operating capabilities, and

target markets.

• Lead product development and new product pipeline initiatives to support target market range.

• Develop marketing strategy and customer-facing communications including collateral, electronic media, and trade

show participation.

• Identify potential market trends, growth opportunities, partnerships, and products to target along with plans

developed collaboratively with the Director of Sales.

• Forecast product mix and support product/customer development activities.

• Work with customers to drive projects supporting development needs and manage reporting activity within BRM

opportunity and product areas.

• Attend industry relevant trade shows and conferences.

Leadership / Teamwork

• Work across customer R&D;, Operations, Purchasing, and Production teams to provide total solution packages

for commercial projects.

• Work with Quality, Regulatory, and Customer Service to facilitate customer approval processes.

• Support customers by providing technical support and application expertise.

• Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service while fostering strong communication.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline (Food Science preferred) or related field required.

• Master’s degree encouraged.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of food ingredient development and/or application experience.

• Application of scientific background (Vocational, Chemical, or Food and Nutrition Science).

• Experience in formulating spray dried products is considered a plus.


POSITION / PRODUCT / INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of food processing, specifically spray dried processes, raw materials, industry, and technologies.

• Strong collaboration skills with customers in product formulation, technical development, and application

technologies.

• Proven record of initiating, planning, and implementing technical projects within budget and timelines.

• Demonstrated experience leading and managing product and technical development.

• Experience with spray dryer technology and specialty spray dried food products.

• Good analytical skills and scientific approach.

• Ability to analyze data and write customer reports.

• Acquainted with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in a typical office and laboratory environment.

• Some travel may be required (approximately 25%).

• Proper use of PPE may be required when exposed to production and laboratory facilities.
