Sprats are small, oily fish that belong to the family Clupeidae, which also includes herrings and sardines. These fish also play an important role in the marine food chain, serving as prey for larger fish, seabirds, and marine mammals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Sprat, and why are they important?

What Are SPRAT Jobs?

SPRAT jobs include a variety of positions that use rope and additional equipment as part of their daily operations, usually in regards to climbing in rough terrain for various purposes. SPRAT jobs may require skills to traverse ropes horizontally, vertically, or both. These jobs usually, but do not always, involve working at heights. SPRAT is not actually a job title—it stands for the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians and indicates one of two common certifications for rope access technicians. Most employers also accept the other common certification, IRATA.

What jobs require Sprat certification?
