Multi-Sport Lead Coach (Ages 1-10)

Amazing Athletes

Colorado Springs, CO

Part-time

Job description

Amazing Athletes - Colorado Springs

Help Build Something Special

Amazing Athletes is looking for an exceptional coach to join our founding team as we expand throughout Colorado Springs.

This isn't just another coaching position. We're building one of the area's premier youth enrichment programs, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

Our educational sports classes introduce children to the fundamentals of multiple sports while helping them develop confidence, coordination, teamwork, listening skills, and a lifelong love of being active.

Our primary focus is preschool-aged children (around age 3), with opportunities to coach children ages 1-10 as our programs continue to grow into schools, public classes, camps, and after-school enrichment.

If you're energetic, dependable, and passionate about helping young children learn through play, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Lead fun, engaging Amazing Athletes classes for young children
  • Create a positive and encouraging environment where every child feels successful
  • Teach age-appropriate sports skills through games, imagination, and movement
  • Build relationships with school staff, parents, and children
  • Arrive prepared and ready to lead each class with enthusiasm
  • Represent Amazing Athletes with professionalism and positivity

Requirements

Who We're Looking For

We're searching for someone who naturally connects with young children and brings energy into every room. You must be a natural leader who can walk into a room of preschoolers, quickly earn their attention, and confidently lead a fun, engaging class independently from day one. This role requires a big personality-if you're uncomfortable leading with enthusiasm, energy, and confidence, this position is probably not the right fit.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Positive and enthusiastic
  • Comfortable leading groups independently
  • Patient and encouraging
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Confident speaking with parents and school staff
  • Physically active and enjoys being on the move
  • Excited to grow with a rapidly expanding company
Requirements
  • 18 years or older
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel throughout Colorado Springs
  • Ability to lift and carry sports equipment (approximately 30 lbs.)
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to demonstrate movement and participate actively during classes
  • Successfully pass a background check
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Preschool or Pre-K Teaching
  • Elementary Education
  • Child Development
  • Youth Sports Coaching
  • Recreation Programming
  • Pediatric Therapy
  • Summer Camps or Childcare

Professional experience working with children ages 1-6 is highly preferred.

Knowledge of sports is also preferred, but you do not need to be an expert in every sport.

Our curriculum is specifically designed for preschool-aged children and focuses on introducing basic skills through fun, age-appropriate activities. We provide comprehensive lesson plans and training, making it easy for someone with a general sports background-or even experience in just one or two sports-to quickly become confident teaching our programs.

The most important qualification is your ability to connect with children and create an engaging, positive experience every class.

Schedule

Current coaching opportunities are primarily:

  • Weekday mornings (approximately 9:00 AM-12:00 PM)

As we continue growing, opportunities will expand to include:

  • Afternoons
  • Evenings
  • Saturdays
  • School breaks
  • Camps
  • Special events

Additional coaching hours are expected as new schools and programs are added.

Benefits

Compensation & Growth
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience
  • Paid training
  • Flexible part-time schedule
  • Opportunity for increased hours as programs expand

Because we are in an exciting startup growth phase, we're looking for someone interested in growing with us. Strong performers will have opportunities to take on additional coaching hours, Lead Coach responsibilities, mentor new coaches, and help shape the future of our programs throughout Colorado Springs.

Our Mission

At Amazing Athletes, we believe sports are about much more than learning to throw, kick, or catch.

Our goal is to help children build confidence, develop healthy habits, improve coordination, and discover the joy of being active-all while having an incredible amount of fun.

If you want a career where you can make a meaningful impact on children's lives while helping build an organization from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
