Job Description

The Assistant Director of Sports Science / Football supports the design, implementation, and daily operation of the football sport science program. This role contributes to the monitoring of athlete workload, readiness, and recovery while assisting in translating data into actionable insights for coaches, medical staff, and performance personnel.
The position will collaborate across strength & conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, and coaching staff to enhance player availability, readiness, and performance. Position reports to the Associate AD, Performance Enhancement / Football.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or related field, and/or a master's degree
Experience with athlete monitoring technologies (GPS, force plates, etc.)
Strong proficiency in Excel (data organization, formulas, basic analysis)
Applied understanding of training load concepts (volume, intensity, ACWR, etc.)
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in collegiate or professional football
Experience and proficiency with the following:
- Player tracking systems: Catapult / Zebra systems
- VALD technologies: ForceDecks, NordBord, ForceFrame
- Data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI
- Data analysis & coding tools: R, Python
- Machine Learning: Predictive modeling, feature engineering, model evaluation
- Computer Vision: Player tracking, pose estimation, video annotation
- Systems: Git, APIs
