What does a sports producer intern do?

A Sports Producer Intern assists in the creation and production of sports broadcasts or digital content. Their responsibilities may include researching sports stories, helping with scriptwriting, coordinating with on-air talent and technical crews, and managing schedules. To thrive as a Sports Producer Intern, you need a basic understanding of sports journalism, strong organizational abilities, and familiarity with media production, often supported by coursework or experience in communications or broadcasting. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills help interns stand out in a fast-paced production environment. These skills and qualities are essential for producing engaging content, meeting tight deadlines, and supporting the success of live and recorded sports broadcasts.
