Position Summary:Join UD Baseball and make an impact in Division I Athletics! This assistant coaching position supports the head baseball coach in most all areas of this Division I baseball program. This position will assist with instruction, training and coaching of our baseball student athletes in team and individual environments on the technical aspects of the sport, the collegiate game and skills necessary to compete at the Division I collegiate level including strength and conditioning. This position will assist in recruiting quality student athletes and assist the coach with matters such as team composition, competition strategies and peak performance. Additionally the assistant coach will assist in managing team operations, including team travel arrangements and video management needs. This assistant coaching position will perform additional duties related to coaching (e.g., compliance education, equipment procurement, fund raising/donor relations and other duties as assigned by head coach). UD Coaches are charged with adherence to all NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, and University of Dayton policies, rules and regulations. The successful candidate must be able to support and promote the University of Dayton's mission and the core values of UD Athletics and its baseball program. The University of Dayton Athletics' Internship program is designed to expose the highly motivated individual to all aspects of a Division I athletic program. Strong performers have the opportunity to be considered for permanent positions within the division if and when they become available.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience as a collegiate baseball student-athlete.
- Experience in baseball pitching skills instruction.
- Valid state issued driver's license, maintains a low risk driving record and is able to be insured by the university.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
- Collegiate coaching experience.
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
- Able to demonstrate good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate good organization skills.
