Position Supervisor: Chelsey Lucas Department/Office: Athletics Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour, 0 - 20 hours per week depending on department need, availability of funds and student eligibility. Position Summary The Athletics Operations Assistant will support the daily operations of the Yavapai College Athletics Department while gaining valuable professional experience in collegiate athletics, event management, customer service, leadership, and sports operations. This position offers hands-on experience working alongside coaches, staff, faculty, and campus partners to assist with athletic events, facility operations, game-day management, and other departmental initiatives

Students in this role will develop transferable skills in communication, organization, technology, teamwork, and problem-solving while supporting the mission, goals, and values of Yavapai College. Minimum Expectations & Requirements Minimum Expectations & Requirements Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility, applicants must: Have current aid year FAFSA verified and on file at Yavapai College Be funded for at least 6 credit hours while employed in this position Be in good financial aid standing at Yavapai College Have unmet need as determined by the FAFSA Be receiving their financial aid from Yavapai College Complete all required hiring paperwork, including I-9 documentation, prior to beginning work. All hiring documents must be completed prior to first work shift, including acceptable documentation for the I-9 Form Adhere to the code of confidentiality in certain cases where discretion should be used Adhere to Yavapai College Code of Conduct as well as FERPA guidelines Preferred Skills & Abilities Preferred Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate: Professionalism and dependability.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on the athletic schedule. Essential Functions Essential Functions Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Game Day Operations Assist with setup and breakdown of athletic events. Prepare competition venues before and after events.

Operate admission/ticket sales and collect gate receipts. Welcome and assist spectators, visiting teams, officials, and game personnel. Provide outstanding customer service during events.

Event Management Operate scoreboards and game clocks for multiple sports. Manage music and public address support during contests. Assist with live streaming, video production, and game statistics.

Support officials, athletic trainers, coaches, and event staff as needed. Monitor equipment and ensure game-day operations run efficiently. Athletics Department Support Assist coaches and staff with daily office and operational duties.

Organize, move, and inventory athletic equipment. Help maintain athletic facilities and storage areas. Perform light cleaning before, during, and after events.

Assist with special events, tournaments, camps, recruiting activities, and community outreach events. Complete additional duties assigned by the Athletics Department to support departmental operations. General Expectations Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned shifts.

Maintain a professional appearance and attitude. Demonstrate flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings and weekends. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

Follow all Yavapai College policies, procedures, FERPA regulations, and the Student Code of Conduct. Learning Outcomes Students employed in this position will gain experience in: Collegiate athletic administration Event and facility management Sports technology and game operations Customer service and public relations Leadership and teamwork Communication and professionalism Organization and time management Problem-solving in fast-paced environments Employment Period The start date, no earlier than July 1 of the current aid year, will be determined by the hiring supervisor. The standard end date for this assignment is June 30 of the current aid year.

Employment may end earlier or be extended based on Federal Work Study eligibility, departmental needs, and funding availability. This position is employed by Yavapai College. Work assignments will primarily take place within the Athletics Department and at Yavapai College athletic facilities.
