Sports Medicine Physician

Wellmont Medical Associates, Inc., a regional healthcare professional provider, seeks a physician to provide comprehensive medical care for patients in the Southwest Virginia area by providing services to examine, evaluate, diagnose and oversee the treatment of patients through the utilization of diagnostic tools and instruments and direct the preparation and implementation of testing procedures, protocols and modalities for persons who present with symptoms and health issues relating to the musculoskeletal system. The person who is in this position will be responsible for prescribing medications and ordering tests as well as interpreting the test results in furtherance of the diagnostic process to plan treatment of bones, muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues that inhibit a patient's health, agility and performance. The Sports Medicine Physician serving in this position shall endeavor to seek optimal outcomes for patients coming under his or her care. This position is located at a clinic in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Furthermore, the person in this position must have M. D., D.O. or foreign medical degree equivalent, completion of family medicine or internal medicine residency and fellowship in Sports Medicine medical disciplines. This person should also have Board Certification and/or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine as well as Sports Medicine. The individual should also be licensed to practice medicine in Virginia.
