ABC57 News in South Bend, Indiana is seeking a communicative and creative Technical Director to join our growing office.


About the Role

· Direct a fast paced, cutting-edge newscast utilizing the Grass Valley Ignite automation system

· Manage switcher, audio, camera, graphics, and studio operations simultaneously

· Oversee live broadcast, including ticker and other alert systems

· Work alongside Producers, Anchors, and Reporters to improve presentation and flow of the newscast


What You’ll Do

· Ensure smooth on-air execution through effective communication and switching

· Code newscasts using INews and offer solutions and alternatives to producers as necessary

· Design graphics for news using Adobe CC and other tools

· Supervise studio setup, lighting, and set materials

· Operate teleprompter, edit video, and perform videography as needed

· Contribute to promotional and creative content production when opportunities arise

· Perform additional duties as assigned


What You’ll Need

· Previous experience with broadcast technology is preferred

· Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, non-scripted breaking news environment

· Physical ability to climb ladders to replace studio/set lighting as needed

· Must be willing to work varying shifts and accommodate schedule changes as necessary
