Job description

What are we building?

Hard Rock Digital is a team focused on becoming the best online sportsbook, casino, and social gaming company in the world. Weโ€™re building a team that resonates passion for learning, operating, and building new products and technologies for millions of consumers. We care about each customer interaction, experience, behavior, and insight and strive to ensure weโ€™re always acting authentically.

Rooted in the kindred spirits of Hard Rock and the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Hard Rock Digital taps a brand known the world over as the leader in gaming, entertainment, and hospitality. Weโ€™re taking that foundation of success and bringing it to the digital space - ready to join us?

What's the position?

We are looking for a sharp, curious, and highly analytical individual to join our Fraud team as a Fraud Analytics Analyst. This role reports directly to the Manager of Fraud Analytics and serves as a close working partner, supporting the full range of analytical work that drives fraud strategy, detection, and reporting across the business.

This is a hands-on data role for someone who enjoys digging into large datasets, isolating patterns, and turning raw signals into clear, defensible conclusions. You will work directly in our data environment to investigate suspicious activity, quantify the impact of fraud and promo abuse, and produce the analysis and reporting that leadership relies on making decisions. You will also help build and refine the tools, queries, and repeatable processes that make the whole team faster and more accurate.

The ideal candidate is equal parts investigator and analyst. You are comfortable writing your own queries, structuring your own analysis, and communicating findings in plain language, and you take pride in work that is accurate, well documented, and delivered on time. You are also excited to work with modern AI tools, which are a core part of how our team investigates, analyzes, and reports, and to help push those capabilities further.

Responsibilities include:

  • Querying and analyzing large datasets to investigate accounts, cohorts, and transaction patterns tied to suspected fraud and related risk activity.

  • Building account-level and cohort-level analysis in Excel, Amplitude, Power BI and other tools to support investigations and quantify impact.

  • Producing clear, professional reports and written summaries that translate complex analysis into tangible findings and recommendations for leadership.

  • Investigating alerts and signals generated across internal and third-party detection systems, and validating or disproving suspected fraud scenarios.

  • Supporting recurring operational and leadership reporting, with insights grounded in data.

  • Assisting with the development and testing of detection rules and logic, and helping identify gaps and opportunities to improve accuracy.

  • Conducting quality reviews of case handling and documentation against internal standards.

  • Helping build and maintain the queries, tools, templates, and documentation that support the analytics function.

  • Managing multiple concurrent projects and ad hoc requests while meeting turnaround expectations and following documented procedures.

  • Partnering with fraud operations, compliance, and other teams to align on process and escalation.

What are we looking for?

Successful candidates will be self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role suits someone who is genuinely curious about how fraud works, enjoys solving open-ended problems with data, and wants to grow into a deeper analytics specialty within a fraud team.

  • Previous experience in fraud, payments, risk, banking, disputes, or a related analytical field (preferred).

  • Working proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write and troubleshoot your own queries against large datasets. Experience with Snowflake is a plus.

  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to structure, clean, and analyze account-level and transactional data.

  • Good investigative instincts, sound judgment, and the ability to interpret data and activity to reach clear, defensible conclusions.

  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to distill complex analysis into concise summaries and recommendations that drive decisions.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

  • Knowledge of gambling and sports betting, and how customers engage with those products, is a plus.

  • Familiarity with fraud typologies such as promo abuse, multi-accounting, chargebacks, account takeover, or payment fraud is a plus.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously at various stages of development and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

  • Comfort with AI tools and a genuine interest in using them to work faster and smarter is a strong plus, along with a willingness to learn new systems.

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Mathematics or a related field preferred.

  • As we operate at the speed of sports, candidates must be prepared to work flexible hours to mirror the sporting schedule.

Whatโ€™s in it for you?

We offer our employees more than just competitive compensation. Our team benefits include:

  • Competitive pay and benefits

  • Flexible vacation allowance

  • A hybrid / remote working environment

  • Startup culture backed by a secure, global brand
